Welcome to Equicast Temporary Support System (ETSS) a revolutionary product/process for treating hoof wall problems/failures. The ETSS process benefits the owner, trainer, farrier, veterinarian, and most of all horses. Angles, size, and shape (overall health) of a hoof have a direct influence on the soundness of a horse. When a hoof wall starts to fail it is a direct caUSe and effect on the soundness and movement of a horse.
One of the major caUSes of hoof problems is moisture. When a hoof wall absorbs too much moisture, the hoof wall loses integrity and starts to fail. Horses that have strong healthy walls may not be affected by excessive moisture and may not have any loss of integrity or support. However, when a hoof is affected by environmental caUSes, breed traits, excessive weight (obesity), or stress, hoof wall failure needs to be recognized and treated. Signs of hoof wall fatigue/failure are quarter cracks, dishing, flaring (white line disease), corns, coffin bone fractures, long toe-low heel syndrome etc. The first sign of hoof wall failure is when action needs to be taken. Having the knowledge and tools to correct hoof wall failure provides a better service for our client's hoof problems. White line disease is the major caUSe of hoof wall failure. A wet environment and stressed lamina create an anaerobic environment ideally suited for white line disease. This excessive moisture affects hoof wall quality and (white line disease) creates loss of hoof wall integrity leading to hoof wall fatigue and failure.

ETSS adds support to the whole hoof capsule. Controlling the lateral expansion of the hoof wall and adding caudal support reduces the stress on hoof walls. Fatigue compromises hoof walls buy stressing the 3 stratums (Horny Laminae) treating white line disease with a topical treatment (silver sulfadiazine) kills anaerobic bacteria. This proven two-fold approach simultaneoUSly adds temporary support to the hoof wall and topically treats the white line disease. By controlling hoof wall expansion and treating anaerobic bacteria, nature now has a chance to grow strong healthy hooves.
