Equicast enhances hoof treatments for horses

A large majority of problems centered on hooves result in or include separation of the walls. Some ailments simply require time and protection for re-growth. On occasion, a horse may jUSt need a stand-in for a thrown shoe until a replacement can be fit. Whatever the case may be, Equicast provides the temporary support necessary in most hoof treatments for horses.

It is important to note that hooves are living organisms that, while resilient, are vulnerable to injury and infection. Ailments come in many forms, from a bruised hoof to white line disease. Some are not serioUS and have quick recovery times. Others require immediate medical attention. Many can progressively worsen to the point of death if untreated. CaUSes range from inconsistent or excessively tough terrain to poor trimming or shoeing practices to diet to simple bad luck. Unsanitary conditions and exposure to an environment that constantly fluctuates between wet and dry also contribute to equine illness, hoof bruising, etc..

JUSt as vast as the troubles and caUSes, treatment of these issues runs the gamut from special shoes to medication. In nearly every instance, though, Equicast meets a need. When tissue needs to re-grow, our system gives the entire area cUStom fit protection. When separation occurs or is a logical probability, our temporary support holds everything in place, allowing for proper healing time. When medicines need to be in constant contact with the infected places, our cast is up to the task.

Don't dismiss a bruised hoof

A bruise can be extremely painful for a horse. Often, the sensitivity will disappear in a few days. Yet, a bruised hoof can be an indication of other issues that need addressing. Some hooves are more sUSceptible to bruising, especially if the walls are thin. Change in ground conditions could easily be a culprit. Improper shoeing or sizing could produce these results. Since feet adapt to their surroundings over time, horses raised in certain parts of the country may experience similar soreness if moved to an area with a different climate. A simple bump against a fence post or trailer might even be the caUSe.

Make sure sensible steps are taken to help prevent corns and stone bruises when possible. Then treat the injury properly when it arises. Whatever the reason, if hoof treatments for horses call for temporary protection and support, Equicast is the most effective answer.
