Rodeo

Shelly Feet:

I have been running a hunter-jumper training, lay-up and retirement farm in Southern Pines, NC. since 1998. About five years ago Dave Richards suggested I USe Equicast on a few of my horses with problem hoofs. Always the skeptic regarding new “fixes,” I was reluctant to USe Equicast. Dave, however, was persistent, and finally I agreed to try this wonderful product. Boy, am I ever glad that that I did. Following are jUSt a few examples of how Equicast has worked wonders at my barn:

Rodeo: This very fancy young hunter was the best mover I’d seen in years. Consistently the winner, Rodeo’s first season of showing was sadly interrupted by the fact that in addition to all of his many wonderful attributes, Rodeo also owned a horrible set of hoofs, and we jUSt couldn’t keep shoes on him for more than a few weeks. Equicast not only provided the immediate support to keep this horse’s shoes on and showing, it also enabled him to grow a “normal” hoof and get back to routine shoeing.

Wilbur & David

Uneven Feet:

This is my horse Wilbur. Wilbur has mismatched front feet and has had sore heels and problems for the last two years. This ended his career as a serviceable horse. However things are really looking up for Wilbur approximately three months ago I was introduced to Dave Richards and his Equicast product. After jUSt one shoeing Wilbur was sound. Today his hoof structure is looking much better and he continues to be sound. To say the least, I am delighted and so is Wilbur. Thank you Dave, for coming to our rescue. We will be forever grateful."

Improved Angles:

"My horses and I have been working with David Richards for over five years. equicast has been a life saver more times than I can possibly count.

"David has been able to rescue my horses’ feet on numeroUS occasions. We have USed the cast to secure loose shoes as well to increase the size of the foot and improve angles. The best part of the Equicast product is its ease of application. Anybody who can wrap a foot can USe equicast and have great results. Additionally, Equicasts wear like iron and the rider can keep on his or her regular training schedule with no interruption.

"I highly recommend this product. As far as I can see there is no down side to USing Equicast.

Foy with Louie
Lost Shoes:

I absolutely swear by Equicast! If Louie is about to lose a shoe, I will simply put a cast over the shoe, and I am able to continue working jUSt as normal. Or, if Louie has thrown a shoe, there is no worry of him going barefoot, waiting for my farrier to squeeze US in. It is easy for me to put a cast on, and I am able to continue working him jUSt as if the shoe were still on. I also have the piece of mind "

Lord Peter with Josh Walthers
Hyperflexed Hock:

"Dave and his Equicast system were wholly instrumental in the life and recovery of our advanced level event horse, Lord Peter. In 2001, after a 3rd place in CDCTA’s CCI with Josh Walther, Pete came home. The first day he was home he hyper-flexed his hock. The diagnosis was a 50% tear of the lateral collateral ligament--prognosis, not good for recovery or even survival. After many treatments the one thing that helped the most was Equicast. The varioUS applications, with shoe, without shoe, with lily pad, etc. were the constant in all the chaos. Even though he didn’t return to competition, he is alive, ridable and happy, due in large part to Dave’s efforts, dedication and cast! Pete, Emily and I will always and forever be thankful! Equicast rocks!!!!!!"

Glenda with Roy
Uneven Feet:

In 1998 Roy was at his peak in the show ring. Everything changed after one shoeing job left him very uncomfortable. He went from a long elegant mover to a short choppy mover. Over time he developed joint problems. His overall attitude had changed. After trying many vets, farriers, ect., Dave began working with him. By this time Roy’s feet were small, thin walled and unbalanced. He had a club foot on the left front and a contracted heel. Dave balanced his feet and USed the Equicast system to help change the shape of the club foot.
The cast enabled the foot to spread without breaking up the thin wall. By correcting the root of his problems (his feet) all of the veterinary and chiropractic work began to take hold. The Equicast was also USed on his font feet to hold shoed when his feet were soft from wet weather. Roy is currently competing again and more importantly he is comfortable. He had one of his best shows while wearing the Equicast. It helped give me back the horse I had before all of the front joint problems.

Sincerely,

Risqué' is a 17 year old homebred Oldenburg mare. She is out of our imported Verbands Premium mare and is herself an Elite Premium mare. Risqué' was also our best broodmare having produced a dozen foals who all received Premium Awards and then went on to excel in the Olympic disciplines! Unfortunately she colicked after foaling 7 years ago, requiring surgery. As often happens, she foundered severely in both front feet following the surgery. With the very best of veterinary and farrier care we were able to save her life and one front foot returned to normal. However the other front foot did not recover necessitating numeroUS emergency farrier and/or vet visits over the next couple of years.

Risque's foot got so bad during the last trimester of her pregnancy that she couldn't walk without IV Banamine and I frequently had to carry food and water to her. Then Dave Richards stepped in with Equicast. He felt he could redirect the hoof growth and make her comfortable. After the first application Risqué' moved better than she had in years. Continued applications until her hoof had grown down had her feeling quite good and playing with the other horses - running and bucking around the pasture!

The decision was made to retire her as a broodmare becaUSe her foot worsened with each pregnancy. But thanks to the work Dave did on her she is now happily retired and still playing with the youngsters in the herd, even though she's barefoot. She has a permanent limp but does not appear to be in any more pain. Thanks Dave!
